Abstract:   (188 Views)
Introduction: There are many factors that affect people's performance and behavior, including spirituality and faith. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of spirituality and faith on the performance of medical students working in the wards of Covid-19 in 1401.
Methods: The current study was descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional. The statistical population consisted of all medical students of Jundishapur University in Ahvaz city in 1401 who worked in the Covid-19 departments. The investigated samples were selected randomly and included in the study. Based on Demorgan's table and with 10% attrition, 210 medical students were examined. The required data were collected by the standard spirituality questionnaire (Parsian and Doninig, 2009) and the students' performance was calculated based on their scores after passing the Covid-19 section. All analyzes were performed using spss software version 22 and at a significance level of less than 0.05.
Results: The score of students' faith and spirituality was equal to 82.19 ± 12.02 and above. The effect of faith and spirituality along with its sub-scales (self-awareness, importance of spiritual beliefs in life, spiritual activities and spiritual needs) on the performance of medical students was also significant and direct (P<0.05). There was a significant difference between the average scores of the self-awareness subscale according to marital status (P<0.05), so that the average score of self-awareness was higher in single students than in married students. Also, there was a significant difference between the mean score of the subscale of importance of spiritual beliefs in life according to father's occupation (P<0.05).
Conclusion: It is hoped that by using the obtained results, it is possible to apply the necessary solutions and measures to improve and increase spirituality and faith in the society.
