Investigation of Spiritual Intelligence and Creativity among rehabilitation Sciences Students in Iran University of Medical Sciences

Aims: Spiritual Intelligence is a type of adaptation and behavior that assists a person in order to harmonize with the environment, improve performance, creativity and so. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the relationship between spiritual intelligence and creativity of the students of Iran University of Medical sciences.
Instrument & Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 149 Students of the Iran University of medical sciences in 2016 and was selected using a stratified sampling technique. For this purpose, after specifying the sampling framework and considering the number of students in each field, the subjects were selected using a simple random method. To fill research tools, the researcher referred to the selected students after the end of the class and after explaining the objectives of the study, asked them to fill study tools if they had a tendency. Data collecting was a spiritual intelligence questionnaire with 42 Questions and a creativity questionnaire with 60 items. Data analysis by using descriptive and analytic methods (Pearson correlation coefficient independent t-test and linear regression analysis) by using SPSS 19.
Findings: The mean age of the students was 21.05±1.2; 68% of the participants were women. The mean of spiritual intelligence was 143.08±12.01 and creativity was 137.69±14.68. There is a significant positive relationship between spiritual intelligence and creativity. Furthermore, there is no significant difference between males and females regarding spiritual intelligence and creativity. Based on regression analysis, spiritual intelligence was one of the predictors of creativity (p=0.03).
Conclusions: Higher spiritual intelligence is associated with more creativity. By fortifying spiritual intelligence, creativity can be improved.
