Objective: In order to make praying in the hospital easier and remove possible obstacles, it is necessary to study the problems of performing this duty from the patients' point of view. will be Materials and Methods: In this descriptive-analytical research, 270 patients hospitalized in different departments of Golestan Ahvaz Teaching Hospital in 1402 are examined. The data collection tools include questionnaires on obstacles to prayer and personal and clinical characteristics of patients. The questionnaire has 22 questions and its purpose is to evaluate the obstacles to performing prayer from the perspective of hospitalized patients (obstacles related to prayer preparations, obstacles related to movement, obstacles related to facilities, obstacles related to illness). The data obtained from the research is analyzed using SPSS software version 16 and Pearson correlation, t-test and analysis of variance statistical tests. Findings: According to the results of this study, 55% of the patients were female and 45% were male, and in terms of education, 42.9% had a university degree, and the most common cause of hospitalization was internal diseases. The frequency distribution of the answers of the patients to the questionnaire of the obstacles to performing prayers showed that the biggest obstacle to performing prayers in the inpatient ward, according to the patients, was having secretions and bleeding, and the obstacles that were the least important were, in order, not having access to the prayer room, not facing the direction of the bed towards the Qibla and There has been unavailability of water for ablution. The average score of obstacles among patients is equal to 56.92 with a standard deviation of 20.32, which shows that the maximum score was 106, which indicates that this score is at an average level. The highest score was related to the person's disease dimension and the lowest score was related to the facilities dimension. Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that the obstacles to performing prayers in Golestan Hospital in Ahvaz are related to the clinical conditions of the patient and the conditions of the hospital. Also, by holding educational programs in order to explain the conditions of performing prayers during hospitalization for nurses and patients, an effective step can be taken in fulfilling this divine instinct.
