Background and Objectives: Marriage is considered the ideal solution for fulfilling one of the fundamental human instincts, which holds great significance in Islam and other divine religions. Currently, researching young people's views on marriage has become a crucial aspect of family studies. The aim of this research was to investigate collage students' attitudes on marriage.
Materials and methods: This study was a descriptive research conducted among students at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences in 2022. Data was collected through written questionnaires for self-reporting. Sampling was done using simple random sampling with a probability proportional to the size of the population. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 16 software.
Findings: Students with a history of participating more in extracurricular programs (β=0.160, P=0.018), male students (β=0.211, P=0.003), and married students (β=0.285, P=0.003) = >0.001) had a more favorable attitude towards marriage. The students obtained 65.7% of the maximum obtainable score for the attitude towards marriage questionnaire. The field of "optimistic attitude towards marriage" received the highest percentage.
Conclusion: Students scored two-thirds of the total points on the attitude towards marriage questionnaire, with the highest percentage of points being for having an optimistic attitude towards marriage. Since male students showed a more positive attitude, it is suggested to create educational programs specifically for female students.
